Remote Small Sample Collection and Analysis

RemoteControl: Drop Bio Health

Patient-led sample collection  enables research participants to collect blood independently at home or in the office in a few minutes, without the need for training or an in-person visit.

Test results from sample collected at-home have high reliability and precise performance due to our proprietary RemoteControl technology.

Accreditation

Drop Bio Health offers industry-leading precision and accuracy across a wide range of services.
Our Laboratory Information Management System, eLabNext, is fully equipped to handle highly sensitive data and sample tracking.
Our multiplex immunoassay procedure is proudly accredited by the Australian Laboratory Accreditation Body ( to ISO 17025 standards. The scope of accreditation can be found on the ALAB website, accreditation number 22-3767.
Drop Bio Health’s exclusive remote blood sample collection kit is manufactured according to ISO 13485 requirements. The kits are medical devices listed on the Australian Register of Therapeutic Goods (ARTG) registry (ID:371291).
The laboratory activities also comply with ISO 9001, 14971, 17043 and 13485 standards.

Remote Small Blood Sample Collection and Analysis

Our patient-led sample collection kits enable research participants to collect blood independently at home or in the office in a few minutes, without the need for training or an in-person visit. Each kit contains easy-to-follow instructions and all consumables needed for participants to collect and mail their own samples to our laboratory at the University of New South Wales. Its consumables accommodate plasma collection (EDTA, SST and Heparin).
The kits are monitored with sensors for sample quality control and correction of downstream test results to account for the effects of transit - our laboratory uses proprietary technology to perform sample degradation assessments and ensure samples collected remotely have high reliability and precise performance. Kit ordering and fulfilment can be fully customised to the needs of each research project. Our end-to-end system includes patient management, sample collection logistics, small sample processing and biobanking.
Our team of research experts can also design custom survey tools to fit specific project requirements and monitor participant demographics and recruitment targets, including electronic consent, questionnaires, automated and personalised emails and reminders, with all data exported to the researcher as required.

Maximise patient retention in your trial using remote sample collection for decentralised trials, eligibility pre-screening, safety monitoring, pharmacokinetics, biospecimen repositories, repeated measures and post-trial monitoring.

Technique Overview

Characteristics

Multiplex Immunoassay

Chemistry Analyser

Clinical Immunoassays

Principle
Uses bead-based multiplex assays to simultaneously measure multiple targets in a single small sample volume.
Spectrophotometry and potentiometry assay principles are used for analysis using colorimetry, turbidimetry, latex agglutination and indirect ISE system.
Antibody-coupled magnetic microparticles-based immunoassay that utilizes the same sandwich principles as traditional ELISAs. The Access 2 uses enzyme-mediated chemiluminescence, which is a chemical reaction in which one of the end products is the emission of light. The light emitted is measured in Relative Light Units (RLU).
Sensitivity
Lower sensitivity. Typically used to measure low to medium concentrations of biomolecules (low pico gram/ml concentration).
Highly sensitive. Varies between test menus.
Highly sensitive. Varies between test menus.
Multiplexing
Specifically designed for multiplexing. It can measure up to 65 biomarkers in a single sample.
Analyse one sample at a time, but with up to 150 samples loaded at once. Up to 18 biomarkers analysed per sample
Analyses one sample at a time, but with up to 60 samples loaded at once.
Minimum Sample Volumes
15 to 50 µL per sample
60 μL per sample
250 μL per sample
Automation
Highly automated, with a robotic system that can handle large numbers of samples.
Fully automated, random-access clinical chemistry system with STAT capability. 800 photometric tests per hour, up to 1,200 with ISE.
Fully automated, up to 100 tests per hour.
